Jolaya Cummings
Legal Assistant
Jolaya is a legal assistant based at the reception desk in Douglas Law Firm’s Bradford office. With a background spanning multiple industries, Jolaya brings a unique blend of technical and legal experience to her role. Prior to joining the firm, she held a Quality Assurance student position at a meat processing plant and initially considered a career in technology. However, her long-standing passion for law ultimately brought her back to the legal field during her third year of university.
Jolaya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from the University of Waterloo and a Paralegal Graduate Certificate from Georgian College. She is currently a P1 licence candidate and has hands-on experience with Provincial Offences matters from her paralegal placement. Her commitment to legal advocacy and interest in litigation have been strong motivators throughout her career journey.
At Douglas Law Firm, Jolaya enjoys the daily interactions with clients and values the supportive and growth-oriented work environment. Outside the office, she is active in her community, participating in charitable marathons like the 5K Foam Fest for cancer research. In her spare time, Jolaya trains in taekwondo and self-defense, runs, and explores creative outlets such as film production and photography. She also cares for pet fish at home. Jolaya is a key component of Douglas Law Firm, and we are proud to have her working for us.
