Melissa is the owner of Douglas Law Firm and a lawyer who focuses her practice in Real Estate Law, Wills, and Estates.
Melissa graduated from York University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in History. She earned a full-time position of employment at a law firm in Toronto prior to attending law school. Driven to be a lawyer since childhood, Melissa obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B) at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom in 2013. While abroad, Melissa immersed herself into the culture of many other countries. She enjoyed traveling to Portugal, France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Greece, Denmark and Croatia, among others. Upon graduating from the University of Sussex, she was enthusiastically welcomed back and offered an articling position at the same Toronto law firm that she enjoyed working at prior to completing her law degree. After six years at her original firm, Melissa was motivated to expand her legal knowledge into the areas of Real Estate Law, Wills & Estates in addition to Family Law. Following being called to the Bar, Melissa began working as an Associate Lawyer in 2016 at a law firm in Barrie, Ontario.
Melissa opened her own practice, Douglas Law Firm, in February 2018, starting out in Bradford, and quickly expanding to Barrie and then Vaughan. Douglas Law Firm currently has a team of 17 people, which includes 7 lawyers and 10 support staff. They can assist in the areas of practice including Family Law, Real Estate Law, Wills & Estates, and some Corporate/Commercial matters. The goal at Douglas Law Firm is to assist clients with their legal needs so that they can take care of what matters most. Our lawyers approach to providing client-oriented service allows them to establish a working relationship that provides clients with the results they deserve.
