Kevin practices in both Real Estate and Wills and Estates. Whether helping clients purchase or sell a home or assisting them with planning for the future, Kevin takes pride in providing guidance and helping clients navigate the legal process during periods when they may feel overwhelmed or uncertain.
Before joining Douglas Law Firm, Kevin worked as an A/V Technician and as a Printing Press Operator. Both positions provided him with valuable experience working with clients and collaborating as part of a team. These roles also taught him how to communicate effectively and remain composed during periods of high stress. He carries these skills into his legal practice, where clear communication and teamwork are essential.
What Kevin likes most about working at Douglas Law Firm is the value placed on communication and the relationships built with clients. He is grateful for the opportunity to help clients navigate what can often be an unfamiliar and complicated legal system. One of the most rewarding aspects of his work is guiding clients through their issues and having the opportunity to call them with congratulations when they close on their new home.
Lawyers are sometimes perceived as being detached or overly formal. Kevin enjoys that this area of practice provides him with the opportunity to have genuine, face-to-face conversations with clients. He values being able to educate clients and help them understand the legal process while also learning from them along the way. Every client brings a different background and perspective. Whether speaking with someone who is passionate about gardening or another lawyer who has spent years working in a particular area of practice, Kevin finds it rewarding to learn something new from the people he meets.
Kevin first attended McMaster University, where he obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Justice, Political Philosophy and Law along with a concurrent degree in Political Science. He then attended the University of Saskatchewan College of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor. During his final year of law school, Kevin had the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at the University of Liverpool. While studying abroad, he was able to travel extensively and visit 30 countries.
Outside of work, Kevin enjoys playing golf, watching sports and spending time at the gym. He also enjoys travelling and experiencing new things whenever he has the opportunity.
